WHY ELI SPORT?

The Eli Sport Method

At Eli Sport, we focus on making our clients better all-around athletes. No gimmicks, no fads, and no tricks. Just simple movements, done properly over an extended period of time, combined with close monitoring and lots of hard work. Our training can be divided into four basic phases, which can vary in length based on program length and athlete experience/ level:

  1. Assessment and Learning Phase: Athletes undergo an assessment which identifies imbalances, weaknesses, and inefficient movement, sprinting, and lifting habits that may exist. Then, we correct and build positive habits, building a foundation for optimal gains in speed and power during a brief learning period. These habits are reinforced throughout the duration of the program until they become instinctual. For returning athletes coming off a break, this is an opportunity to stabilize and rehabilitate potential injuries accumulated during the season.

  2. Endurance Phase: This period is a grind for all athletes, no matter their level of sport. We build speed and strength endurance with high volume, low rest work that prepares athletes for more explosive training later in the program.

  3. Hypertrophy Phase: Athletes undergo higher intensity training with lower volume, as we build strength and begin to incorporate more speed work into our sessions.

  4. Power Phase: We incorporate explosive training with lower volume, high load, and high rest. Sprinting, plyometrics, and explosive lifts with heavier loads. This final phase serves as fine-tuning before training camps and tryouts. 


 

Our programs have been developed over 25 years of training athletes, in addition to Eli's lengthy career as an athlete, learning under the tutelage of some of Canada's finest strength coaches. ​:Eli Sport Power Speed programs include a sessional mix of

  • Strength/ Power training in our gym facility. 

  • Speed training on the track and other environments depend on weather.

  • Mobility and flexibility training in our Infrared heated studio.

  • Conditioning work in thegym, Infrared heated studio, and track.

  • Balance and agility work in the gym, hot studio, and on the track.

  • Small group, low ratio training in a welcoming but competitive environment with athletes in similar age groups and levels.

  • High attention-to-detail coaching, with modifications for specific sports, and for athletes with existing injuries.

  • Hydrotherapy sessions, including cold plunge recovery and steam room access (Advanced, Elite packages).*

  • Complimentary access to Infrared Fitness studio classes, including yoga, pilates, HIIT, and more (Advanced, Elite packages).*
